4.  SNA 3270 Terminal and Printer Emulation

4.1  Description

     SNA 3270 terminal emulators provide access to 3270 applications
over SNA networks.  3270 terminal emulation packages usually include
3287 printer emulators, i.e. LU 1 and LU 3 support.

     HP provides SNA 3270 terminal and 3287 printer emulation for HP
9000 Series 300, 400, 700, and 800 systems.

     The Series 700 is supported in the Gateway configuration only.  A
Series 300, 400, or 800 system with Gateway SNALink is required.  Native
SNA communications for the Series 700 is planned for mid-1992.  Please
contact IND Product Marketing or the Sales Response Center for details.

     SSI provides 3270 terminal and printer emulators on the Series 300
and 400.  SSI's 3270 terminal emulator should only be bid if the custo-
mer also requires SNA 3270 HLLAPI and HP's 3270 API Special is unsuit-
able.
